Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an advanced tool that can be useful in diabetes management. Its concept can be utilized to be directly used for patient care, health care professional support and can assist better utilization of clinic resources and economic.
Diabetes softwares are digital tool that augment good diabetes care. Its connectivity improves patient satisfaction and facilitate connected care with clinics. Both AI and software are important platforms for diabetes research and collaboration.
I choose examples of both to highlight the impact in diabetes management. DreaMed Advisor Pro is an AI-based system for insulin dose adjustments which found not significantly different from recommendations given by expert physicians with vast experience in treating people with diabetes with regard to the direction and magnitude of change. Its automated recommendations are comparable to those given by expert diabetologists and may assist physicians in managing diabetes PwD on either CSII or MDI, especially when and where accessibility to expert clinics is limited.
Of the softwars in diabetes care, I chose LibreView which when automatically uploaded, it offers informed virtual and in-person treatment conversation. Galaxy software is another platform that offers diabetes health care professionals the option to analyse own data. It can also be used to identify trends and insights for clinical benchmarking while aggregating data from different sources to foster research and collaboration.
