  • Aged 7–16 years

  • Withdraw informed consent

  • Patients diagnosed with PE and scheduled Nuss procedure of PE

  • Admitted to intensive care unit after surgery

  • American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status classification I–III

  • Contraindication to regional block (eg, local anaesthetic allergy, anatomical abnormalities, infection at the injection site or coagulation disorders)

  • Signed informed consent form

  • PE, pectus excavatum.
